On August 4, 1999 we passed thorugh a famous area of South Dakota called the Badlands. One brochure described this area as "the moonscape on earth". This area of the country is known for jagged uprisings of rock and rough terrain... Though we passed just north of the actual National Park, the landscape was breathtaking...
