The packs loaded down with all the gear for a 5 day hike in the Denali backcountry.  Some words of wisdom, Denali is the native name for Mt McKinley. Denali meaning the high one or the great one.

The taxi service that delivered us to the backcountry.

Some wonderful backcountry scenery before it turned ugly... Sorry i never took the ugly pictures because I was to cold, wet and tired to lift a camera. The lush green landscape is actually rugged terrain, high brush, soft marshy footing, and deep puddles of cold water.

This beautiful land is quite rugged and harsh in dry conditions, add a cold driving rain to this picture and it becomes an unbearable outdoor experience. The Denali backcountry experience made me appreciate how good our leaky Winnebaigis really is.  As time permits the entire experience will be documented... Suffice to say crossing a 38 degree river with 45 pounds packs after a 9 mile hike is not FUN!!!
