I actually had the good fortune to have to very close encounters with a grizzly bear. the first occurred on Sunday as Greg was biking in the hail. I drove the Winnebaigis back to the visitors center to trace some maps for out Monday hike. Besides myself a few people joined me on the roof of the Winnebaigis to watch the bear, a 60 year old lady even climbed up the ladder to peer down at the bear!!!

The bear was about 100 feet away.
